The easiest way to make an obstacle in Fastmech is simply to add a polygon to the input data set and set an elevation well above the water surface within that shape. Thus, obstacles are part of the topo/bathy. The polygon needs to be large enough to map to at least one grid point, but it’s better to cover multiple grid points so the obstacle is well defined. Using this method, you can add unlimited numbers of obstacles or obstacle that are at any elevation including under the water surface.
