Thank you for using iRIC software.
This is information of updating iRIC software on 6/12, 2014.
In new version, we upgraded several contents for GUI and solvers
We will appreciate it if you check the following information, and download if you are interested to the new version of iRIC software.
1. The iRIC GUI is upgraded from version 2.2 to version 2.3.
2.Nays2DH is released, in which Nays2D and Morpho2D are integrated together. Nays2DH is a two-dimensional solver of flow and bed deformation.
3.NaysEddy is released. NaysEddy is a three-dimensional solver of flow based on large-eddy simulation.

1. Updating of iRIC GUI (ver.2.2 → ver.2.3)

iRIC GUI is upgraded from version2.2 to version 2.3 in this updating,
It has to be noted that the files created by iRIC ver2.3 (.ipro file or project.xlm file) cannot be imported into old iRIC versions. While, the results crated by old iRIC versions can be used in iRIC ver.2.3
New functions are added into iRIC ver.2.3
(1) We added an automatically read function of background images:
By specifying the coordinate system, you can paste the aerial pictures or maps from Google Map on the background of the generated grids. Please check the user manual p.45 for more information.
(2) We added Attribute Browser:
Please check the user manual p.62 for more information.
(3) We added Continuous Snapshot Wizard:
Movie file, KML file that can be read by Google Earth can be output at the same time.
Please check the user manual p.35 for more information.
(4) We added an overlay function for transverse cross-section bed levels:
Please check the user manual p.96 for more information.
(5) Other functions:
・Improvement of the large-scale data processing.
・Improvement of the criteria for the counter map legend Please check the user manual p77 for more information。

2.Nays2DH solver is released

Nays2DH is a two-dimensional solver for flow and bed deformation, in which Nays2D and Morpho2D are integrated together. This is done in order to make the solver selection easier. With the release of Nays2DH, Nays2D and Morpho2D will be not further supported.

【Attention】
Nays2DH cannot import the calculated data created by Nays2D and Morpho2D. If you still need to use Nays2D or Morpho2D, please download “.lzh.folder” from each solver site, and then input the unzipped folder into “C:/Program Files/iRIC 2.3(x64)/solvers”.

4.NaysEddy solver is released.

This solver is provided by Dr. Mohamed Nabi from Hokkaido University, Japan. NaysEddy solves three-dimensional flow based on large-eddy simulation using Cartesian grids with ghost-cell immersed boundary method. NaysEddy is flexible, accurate and it is able to simulate highly complex geometries, in which the turbulence gets significantly affected by the geometry, more flexible than the other solvers using Reynolds Average Navier-Stokes (RANS) models. NaysEddy is capable in solving the extremely complex conditions moving boundaries, complex bed topographies, and flows with relatively high Froude numbers, etc. Please refer to the manual for more information.
