The event “jpGU2024” held on 5/26~5/31 at Makuhari Messe has ended.
Thank you to the iRIC developers and students for your support. We would also like to thank those who visited the event!
The iRIC booth was visited by many researchers and students from a wide variety of specialized fields, including earth sciences (geology, geophysics, geochemistry), weather and climate science, oceanography, space science and astronomy, etc. It was a very good opportunity to introduce iRIC not only to those who know about iRIC, but also to those who do not.
School-related visitors included a university professor from the UK who came to the show seeking information about software for his students, and a high school teacher who brought students who are using iRIC in their club activities. There were also undergraduates who visited this event as a reference for their career paths, and students from Indonesia, Nepal, and other countries who wants to use iRIC as a reference for their own research.
A particularly large number of visitors at this jpGU were interested in earthquakes and tsunamis. We had some very interesting discussions, such as whether we could collaborate with simulators used for tsunamis.
At other booths, there was a lot of knowledge that could be utilized in the future, such as the introduction of GEOgpt, which is specialized for the chemical field, and an interface that enables various image processing and analysis by importing detailed topographical data from sanitation and aircraft!
