Dear iRIC Research Team:
How to simulate fishway hydraulic conditions with iRIC? I saw from the teaching video that there is a mesh generation method specially used for fishway hydraulic simulation, but I don’t see it in iRIC, can you share it.
thank you very much

The solver used to track the fish swiming in iRIC is Gelato. As you may already be aware, Gelato does not have a function to perform flow calculations on its own. Instead, it simulates the behavior of tracking particles or fish in the flow field data calculated by other solvers.
Therefore, in order to proceed, you first need to calculate the flow field using flow simulation models like Nays2dH. For instance, when calculating a fishway using Nays2dH, there isn’t a special module for fishway. Instead, you should provide the features of the fishway, such as walls, obstacles, ramps, and spillways, as part of the terrain data and boundary conditions for a standard flow calculation.
