Aquatic Habitat Modeling

Dear Team,

I am teaching Aquatic Habitat Modeling and I have been using FastMech to simulate the hydraulic conditions. I would like to use EvaTrip Pro to then predict the Suitability. However EvaTri Pro is not compatible with FastMech in IRC-4. Will it be possible to have it compatible? Thank you!

Thank you for using Aquatic Habitat Modeling.

Regarding your question, the source code for EvaTRiP Pro is publicly available, so we encourage users to modify the code and experiment with it as needed.

    I’ll add something.
EvaTRiP Pro is not designed to be used in combination with a specific solver.
Therefore, it can perform analyses as long as the solver outputs the following values:

    Elevation
    Water depth
    Water surface elevation
    Velocity (X)
    Velocity (Y)

In the “Calculation Results Settings” group box under the “Basic Settings” tab in EvaTRiP Pro, you can specify which of the calculation results output
by the solver correspond to “Elevation” and “Water Surface Elevation.”

Looking at the source code of FaSTMECH, it appears that these values are output under the following names:

    Elevation
    Depth
    WaterSurfaceElevation
    VelocityX
    VelocityY

Therefore, we believe that FastMech should be compatible with EvaTRiP Pro.
Once you run FastMech and obtain the calculation results, please set each of the above five calculation results appropriately in the EvaTRiP Pro settings screen.
